ARTFULLY CRAFTED. PERSONALLY INSPIRED.
Dixie Design Collective is a purveyor of semi-custom stationery and wedding paper for discerning clients with a taste for luxurious, artfully driven paper without the lengthy design time or high price point.
Like our founder’s childhood pup, Dixie, for whom the company is named, Dixie Design Collective’s ready-made cards are unique and lively in spirit - a feat made possible through our collaboration with accomplished artists. The Dixie team handpicks artists who are committed to producing quality works through calligraphy, painting, illustrating and other hand-lettering techniques. Our graphic design team applies their talents and skilled eye to fashioning paper goods that have the look and feel of custom cards, without the added wait time and expense.
Our story began in 2014 when our founder, Jennifer Hunt—a busy mother of two who moonlights as an accountant and an art dealer—waited a touch too long to order her holiday cards. Like many busy women before her, Jennifer found that booking an artist to create the hand-lettered cards she wanted was not a possibility. She took to the web, but her efforts were futile. No one was delivering online customizable calligraphy and art-driven holiday stationery. That is when the idea sprung for a website where discerning customers could go for hand-made cards that were thoughtfully and gorgeously created by real artists. No need for pricey design fees, lengthy production times or settling for the mass-produced.
With its collective of thirty artists (and growing!), Dixie is able to supply cards within ten days that are as unique as the intended recipients. Each Dixie artist, with their own distinctive style, creates multiple one-of-a-kind designs, which ensures you’ll find a card to suit your taste. Artwork is created by hand, the paper is luxurious and, to ensure cards feel truly your own, we’ve made it easy to upload photos and personalize messages. No detail is overlooked. We believe stationery should reflect the sender’s personality and delight the recipient and that is what we strive to deliver through the Dixie Collective: Design-driven cards that inspire.
The Dixie Team
Founder and CEO
Jennifer is the creator and founder of Dixie Design Collective. Hailing from northwest Alabama, she graduated with a Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and moved to Birmingham in 1999. She led successful careers first as a Certified Public Accountant and then as an art gallery owner. Not one to be pegged down, Jennifer launched Dixie Design Collective to offer a space where artfully created paper and accessibility could meet. As a gallery owner, Jennifer developed an eye for spotting talent and a skill for curating, which help ensure every artist and piece of work represented in the collective is top-notch. It’s a full job, but when she’s not working with artists, managing her business or keeping up with her two adorable and rambunctious little boys, Jennifer loves traveling with her husband, Buddy, indulging in Birmingham's great restaurants, cooking, reading and enjoying the company of friends and family. Jennifer was selected as a Tory Burch Fellow in 2019.
Buddy joined his wife, Jennifer, at the helm of Dixie’s Wholesale Division in the fall of 2018. After spending two decades in the financial industry honing his sales and relationship-building skills in Minneapolis, Dallas and then back home in Birmingham, he connects Dixie with retail shops around the country and maintains valuable relationships with each new and existing account. In his time away from Dixie, he continues to manage a select number of financial accounts and enjoys the daily excitement of the stock market. His free time is spent with his wife and two young boys, coaching soccer and basketball, watching Alabama and San Francisco 49ers football, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
