Angela Welch

Angela Welch is a lettering artist, painter, and graphic artist specializing in wedding stationery and hand-painted wedding aisle runners. She grew up in Athens, Alabama, and studied nursing at the University of Alabama School of Nursing. Lettering and painting have been a part of Angela’s life since grammar school. Her work is noted by her signature elegant, sweeping flourishes and her own style of engrossing script. She is inspired by the 1700s engraver’s script of George Bickham and often renders, by hand, the vellum and inks she uses in her work. Angela also draws from old manuscripts, vintage lettering, laces, and fabric, to create designs that are classically inspired, but rooted in modernity.
